I founded Heighten Nonprofit Consulting because I saw firsthand how many small to mid-sized nonprofits struggle to implement sustainable fundraising strategies. Too often, vital programs go unfunded simply because the right people never see the proposals, and passionate supporters leave events without making a gift—simply because they weren’t asked.
The reality is that most smaller organizations don’t have the budget for a full-time grant writer or fundraising professional. As a result, Executive Directors and Board Members—who are deeply committed to their missions—often take on fundraising responsibilities while also managing programs, operations, and community engagement. With limited time and resources, creating a sustainable fundraising plan can be challenging.
Through Heighten Nonprofit Consulting, I partner with organizations to bridge this gap, providing grant writing, strategic fundraising planning, and capacity-building support to help them secure sustainable funding. With over 15 years of experience in Northern New Mexico’s nonprofit sector, I’ve served as an Executive Director, Development Director, Freelance Grant Writer, Board Member, and Volunteer. Today, I collaborate with a business consultant, technical consultant, and administrative consultant to provide comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of small and mid-sized nonprofits.
Before transitioning to the nonprofit world, I worked in web design and as a system requirements engineer. I hold a Master’s degree from Dartmouth College and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from New Mexico State University.
At Heighten Nonprofit Consulting, my mission is simple: help nonprofits build the resources they need to create lasting impact—without relying on last-minute fundraising efforts and luck.
